How TLR Corp collects, uses and protects your personal information under POPIA, and the terms that apply to this website.

Effective date: 10 October 2026

1. Introduction

TLR Corporation ("TLR Corp", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit tlrcorp.co.za, contact us or use our services, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

By using this website or sending us your information, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.

2. Responsible party and Information Officer

The responsible party is TLR Corporation, Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. Our Information Officer can be contacted at info@tlrcorp.co.za or 074 859 1713 for any privacy question or request.

3. Personal information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, company, area of interest and the content of your message when you complete our enquiry form, email, call or WhatsApp us.
  • Information needed to deliver services: business, financial and contact details you choose to share with us during a consultation or engagement.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of access, for security and maintenance.
  • Analytics information: only if you accept optional cookies (see section 9).

We do not intentionally collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information). Please do not send it to us unless we specifically request it for a lawful purpose.

4. Why we use your information

We process personal information only for specific, lawful purposes, namely to:

  • respond to your enquiry and arrange consultations;
  • prepare proposals and deliver the services you request;
  • manage our client and partner relationships, including invoicing and record keeping;
  • keep our website secure and improve how it works; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory and tax obligations.

We rely on your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests or a legal obligation, as permitted by section 11 of POPIA. We do not sell or rent personal information.

5. Sharing and operators

We share personal information only where necessary and on a need-to-know basis:

  • within the TLR group divisions involved in your engagement;
  • with operators that process information on our behalf, such as our website host and email provider, under written agreements that require appropriate security and confidentiality;
  • with professional partners (for example attorneys, accountants, valuers or licensed financial services providers) where your matter requires them and with your knowledge; and
  • where the law, a court or a regulator requires disclosure.

6. Cross-border transfers

Some service providers, such as email or cloud services, may store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we ensure that the recipient is subject to laws, binding rules or an agreement that provide a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to achieve the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as the law requires (for example tax and company records). Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are generally deleted within 24 months. Afterwards, information is securely deleted or de-identified.

8. Security

We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to prevent loss, damage, unauthorised access or unlawful processing of personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and confidentiality obligations for our people and operators. If we believe your personal information has been compromised, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

9. Cookies and analytics

This website works without cookies. If we enable website analytics, it only loads after you select "Accept" in the cookie banner, and it is used to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. You can withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser settings. The WhatsApp, Google Maps and other external links on this site take you to third-party services governed by their own privacy policies.

10. Direct marketing

We will only send you electronic marketing if you have consented or are an existing client, as permitted by section 69 of POPIA. Every marketing message will include a simple way to opt out, and you can unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@tlrcorp.co.za.

11. Your rights

Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it;
  • request the correction or deletion of information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained;
  • object to the processing of your information, including for direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal; and
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

To exercise these rights, email info@tlrcorp.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and will respond within a reasonable time. Access requests are handled in line with POPIA and the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA).

12. Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without the consent of a competent person.

13. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) through its official website: inforegulator.org.za.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the effective date shown at the top.
